Nestboxes Available

We sell nestboxes with a choice of openings - small for Sparrows, Tits and Redstarts, or open front for Robins, Wrens and Wagtails. (Link: BTO nestbox guide). The price for both styles is £3.50, and all proceeds got to the RSPB. To order contact Ken on 0115 9205457.

Sick and Injured Birds

In spring, when birds have had their young, occasionally one will fall from its nest.

If this does happen, please do not touch the bird unless it is in a dangerous position (where a cat can get it or near a road, or other hazard). Then please put it in a bush or on some high point where its parents can locate it.

If the bird is injured please contact your local wildlife hospital, such as Cedar Wildlife Sanctuary in Kirby-in-Ashfield (phone: 01623 468112).

Unfortunately the RSPB cannot look after sick or injured birds. We are a conservation organisation whose aim is the conservation of species and habitats.

Sales Team Needed

As part of its wide-ranging programme of activities the RSPB Nottingham Local Group raises a lot of money for wildlife conservation through sales from the RSPB�s gift catalogue. To maintain its excellent record in this area the Group is looking for volunteers to coordinate its sales activities or simply to join the sales team.

It was a nail-biting wait but finally in November 2006 we were awarded £3400. We were absolutely delighted!

If you are a group and need funding, try the Awards For All fund website for the rules and regulations, and you could be as lucky as we were. It's open to all types of groups, not just conservation.
